Chiggers Chiggers Chiggers... everywhere! Help!

Hi all

We've been taking our horses to the local state parks for trail rides and have found that 9 times out of 10 Toby is getting Chiggers.

I spray his legs heavily with Pyranha fly spray before we leave the trailer. And yet, he has itchy scabby legs the next day after every ride.

I just don't know what to do to protect him from the Chiggers and now that he has them .... again .... what can I apply to make it go away/less itchy for him?

Help!?!?!

My dad (a farmer) always sprinkled sulfur in his socks. I've never noticed a problem with the horses, but I wonder if it might help. You could put some in a balm like udder/bag balm or even vasiline and rub a layer on before going out. Most pharmacies carry it.

For the itch, again go with the bag balm.
