So I got a call from my mom tonight saying how her mare choked again. (2nd time in 8 weeks) Well we know it is from her scarfing her dinner down. I have read on here that you can put large rocks in the feed tub to help this and my mom likes this idea. So we are both wondering how big or small should the rocks be? How many? She is fed in a 5 gallon water bucket. This is not due to teeth as her teeth were just floated in Nov.
Would you say the rocks should be about fist size? Bigger smaller? Any help is very appreciated. (and the mare will not eat soaked feed)
Oh and she is fine now it was a small blockage that passed before she even had anything coming out of her nose or anything.
