Cinder update - herd issues

So, Cinder was only eating when I stood by her. This concerned me but with careful observation and a bit of trickery (I would go out and stay with her while she ate but started moving further away doing chores in the pasture) I am happy to report that when I fed her breakfast she happily munched while I came back into the house.

I am still, however, looking for a buddy for her.

aww she wants a friend :( A shetland or mini would be good for her :)

Trust me I'm looking! I've been looking over a dozen horses so far. It's driving me batty! Picking a friend for her is harder than finding her!

We're in Southern Indiana and I'd prefer a horse or larger pony mainly because Cinder is so large. I don't want goats because our fences are mostly post and rail.

Have you considered taking in an older horse that really just needs a home for retirement where they can live out their lives in good care?

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I have. I'm currently emailing back and forth with a lady that has an older mare with Cushings.

PeggySue - I'm ok with pasture sound. I'm ok with older. It would be awesome to be able to do light trails with them but if not, that's fine too. I'm willing and able to deal with minor illnesses (you can see my thread on Cushings in this section.)
