Clipping inside of hind legs

Not sure where to put this but here goes. When I lunge my horse he almost always ends up with a cut on the the inside of his hind leg just above the ankle. Would SMB or Overreach boots prevent this? He clips his front with his back too occasionally but I put SMBs on the front and he has overreach boots but I wasn't sure about the hind. Thanks!
