Coconut Oil

Has anyone ever supplemented their horses diet with coconut oil?

I use coconut oil in my dog's food.(I home cook their food) and it's done AMAZING things for their coat.

I use coconut oil externally on my horse for fungus and itchy skin, but have been considering switching from canola for her feed to coconut, was wondering if anyone here has ever used it?

Coconut oil is a great idea, I would recommend putting in in or over your horses grain. It is a little stronger then canola oil. Aso beware that not all horses enjoy the taste so if you switch from canola do it slowly until they are more familar. On the other hand some horses will eat anything

I did already, and you're right, she wasn't too keen the first couple nights, but she's used to the taste now, and dives right in.

BTW I find it ever so slightly ironic, that not only did someone from Van answer my post, they did it while I was on a plane flying there.:)
