I am considering adding a hoof suppliment to my horses diet. I have him on two other things as well and I am comparing the ingredients in the three products.
I had asked my vet about adding Farrier's Formula to my horses diet and forgot to mention one of the things he was on.
When she comes to do his Flu/Rhino vaccine I will ask her again about the 3 products just to be certain.
The reason I brought it up on the forum is because I am wondering if anyone else compares the ingredients?
When doing the comparrison how do you know if there will be an over lap of a certain ingredient thus causing the horse to have to much of a certain thing?
For instance you wouldn't want to much Selenium. How do you know the total or max amount for each vitamin or suppliment?
What I have done is taken the 3 products and cut and pasted the ingredients of each on into a word document. I used a seperate page for each product in order to visually compare them.
The three products are Safe Choice, Grand Synergy HA, and Farrier's Formula Double Strength.
The problem is I am not sure how to tell what the max amount of each thing is. I don't want to give to much of anything in particular.
Also I will make sure my vet agree's on the 12th when she will give his shots.
I am totally open to hearing how others go through this process. I also understand this is a forum and everyone has a different way of doing things and it is always best to seek the advice of your Vet.
Just thought it was an interesting subject, and also thought it would be something for others to learn from.
So that being said lets hear how you do things???
