Coon Foot

Not knowing about horses, my wife and I received a Tn walker that we thought was a good horse. After noticing her front hoofs we thought she was club footed but after taking to a farrier we found out that she is coon footed. She is a great horse, doesn't limp unless she tries to trot or run. Should we use boots to to help support her leg? The only riding we will do is gentle grade trail riding. I don't want to make the problem worse, but would like to gently ride her.

Google DSLD in horses,,, sorry but sounds like you got stuck with a horse with a chronic degeneritive, genetic problem, This horse really isnt suitable to be ridden based on what I have read an seen... Lesson learned, always get a vet check before you bring horse home, or have a return guarantee.
