Yeah, I'm giving 8 tablets too. Works great. For the fly spray allergy, tried tying or braiding a Bounce dryer sheet into his mane. Looks stupid, but works great.

Have you tried the vinegar/water/soap/skinsosoft fly spray? I like it because I make it myself and there's nothing really bad in it to harm them. And, it seems to work pretty well with our flies.

No, I can't bring in stone and make a dry lot. Since there is no way of knowing WHAT she's allergic to (it could be something in the trees) there's really no point in doing that, plus, I have no money to do that, plus, we are planning on selling the place soon and I want the grass there, not stone (It probably wouldn't be sold as a horse farm).

But you do make a good point :)

Unfortunately with chronic exsposure to whatever is causing the issue it's going to be a chronic battle. Dry lotting would be the best option for her to minimize exposure to irritants. Any hay fed should be given soaking in water.

It's not the hay. She eats the same hay year round with no issues (however I AM soaking it now).

Definitely something in the field. Vets see a LOT of this in our area. I know of several horses that have been moved "up to the mountains" in NC or TN to get them out of here.

Anyway, if you see my other post "Thank You God" you will see that she is much improved!!!

Now we just manage her and keep her happy.
