I'm SO sorry! It was better than letting him suffer!! :(

Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and, once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed.

Awww, I am so sorry. I knew someone that had something similar and they had to put their horse down too. Their horse was shaking so bad he couldn't stand and he wouldn't eat or drink anything. He was also 22 but I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. :(

It is not just a horse,
It is the one thing that keeps me from being just a girl

Didn't your vet have any ideas what the problem might have been because just today my mom went to the brn to find her 27 yr old app. shaking and stomping at the ground but then he just kind of stopped.

I am so sad . . .

I very much feel for you and wish you heartfelt hugs. But remember, it is a gift we have for our beloved animals to be able to end their pain and suffering and send them on to a better place when there is no other alternative. I just had to put my horse down who'd I had had for 16 years--the absolute love of my life, and I still cry when I think about him. I also still dream about him, then when I wake up and realize he's gone, it hurts so very much. But, there was nothing else we could do for him, and it was the kindest thing we could do to end his suffering. I'm sure you did everything for him you could, and he's not hurting any more.
