Is he a qh? I was thinking HYPP. They usually get muscle spasims due to the messed up potasium level. I would talk you your vet, he/she probably has an idea. Vets around her don't usually put a horse down without first trying to assess whats wrong.

Im so sorry to hear that, last winter I lost the very first horse I ever even petted and rode. I dream about her but I cry when I wake up and realize she's not here anymore. But its alway comforting to know that they were taken out of their misury painlessly and easily. Im sure your horse is in a happy place now :')

There are no words to express how very sorry I am for your loss. Just know that you made a very difficult decision but it was the right one. I know that that knowledge doesn't help now but it will in the future. You are in my thoughts and prayers

So sorry to hear *hugs*. Reading the OP, it sounds as if it's not your horse, just a horse you know/love. If that's correct, why dont' you ask the owner or BO what was wrong wtih him? There's no way we can tell over the forum. *hugs again*

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It's very difficult to lose a horse, especially one so young.

Um.. I think you're right. The original post date was Feb. 22, 2007. This post is more than 2 1/2 years old. Someone's digging up old threads.

Besides that, I am really sorry that you had to put your horse down. I really hope that you have been able to recover from this tragic loss since then, and that you know your horse is better now and not suffering.
