cyst? Sarcoid?

My vet diagnosed sarcoids and I am having them surgically removed today. So time is of the essence. When I did a search online a sarcoid is described as an rupture that doesn't heal. This is soft tissue maybe more like a cyst in her growing area and is not a rupture. They range from small to about the size of a quarter and are perfectly round. Any ideas of what they may be??

They result from any interruption in the skin. Bug bite, scratch, etc. Some horses are simply more prone than others.

I treally do not think any trauma such as a scratch or bug bite is involved. It is winter here and this isn't any thing that could have scratched her in these areas
