Question Devil's Claw

Hey Everyone,

I am doing a report on Devil's Claw for my Equine Nutrition class. My professor suggested that we talk to different horse people for info on supplements as there isn't generally very much scientific info out there.....

So has anyone used Devil's Claw?
Results?
Good?
Bad?
Why did you decide to try/where did you find info that led you to use?

Anyone know of any other forums I can post this so I can broaden my range of responses?

Thanks for your time!!

I used a moody mare supplement with Devil's Claw in it and it did nothing and it shows up on drug tests! Wonderful stuff *end sarcasm*

I used devils claw + yucca for my older gelding who had severe knee arthritis. Its used as an alternative to bute. I did see a good change while he was on it as it helped keep him more comfortable withouth the harsh effects of bute.

I've used this product on my older gelding with excellent results. My husband also uses Lakota for his arthritis and it has made a huge difference to his everyday life.

Welcome to Lakota Canada's Official Website!

Thanks for your responses. We are reporting on different neutraceuticals and I picked this because I knew nothing about it. Thought it was a good opportunity to learn something new.

Anabel- what was the supplement called? From what I know of devils claw (not much yet) it is used for long term pain relief. Seems weird it would be in a moody mare supplement? Unless they think mares are moody because their in pain, like cramps? Hehe

G&K thanks for the website!
