Hello,
Canada b.c here :)
I have a horse ive owned for almost a year, and im more keen on deworming twice a year( spring and winter) because im afraid 4 times a year is too much. Hes alone in a fairly big paddock, manure is picked everyday.
I gave him BIMECTIN PASTE DEWORMER in april, but im not sure what to give him in october, our barn owner wants to deworm horses every 3months also,

What are your thoughts, is deworming 2 times a year ok, or should i change it too 3 or 4 times a year.

Under your circumstances, twice a year is fine. You could, for the peace of mind of the BO, get a fecal test done and deworm according to what is found.
In any case, I'd use a ivermectin/ praziquantel product, Equimax, Zimecterin Gold, to make sure to take care of eventual tapeworm, which rarely show up in a FEC.

ITA. I do twice yearly deworming, with a FEC done at the mid-point between them. Every FEC I've sent in has come back with 0 eggs, though, so I may stop doing those in the future...
