I didn't know you guys had that problem with meds & vets. Is that all parts of Canada? That is weird because in the States we can get people meds cheaper & easier from Canadian pharmacies.
It does seem like the vets themselves have something to do with that.
I've never heard of regional vets either. So if you live in a region with a sucky vet you're stuck with him/her? That seems plain wrong.

No not all parts of Canada..

I buy all my vaccines from a local supplier....I have also purchased the vaccines directly from my vet at cost on occasion (when our local supplier was out of stock).
The only vaccine that a vet must administer here themselves is rabies.

Also not sure of the regional vet thing either....again, I can choose any vet I want, I'm not limited to a vet in a certain region....

Just another reason I'm glad I don't live in Ontario

Horses are like chips...you can never just have one

No sorry , live in ontario, have to get it shipped into Minnesota. I order from valleyvet.com and jeffers.com. Both have excellent prices. So if you've got any sort of friend to receive stuff for you....just need someone to pop it in the fridge when it arrives. And since I highly doubt your anywhere close to my neck of the woods.....the Minnesota/Ontario border only goes over to Thunder Bay.

Oh, I misunderstood Dwl. Thanks anyway. I'll have to see if there is a farm supply place close to the border where I'll be next month.

As for the "regional vet" thing -- ya, that sucks big time. It's not any kind of a law, it's just what the vets do here. Really, really bad. We all hate it, but there is nothing we can do.
