DJD- Help?!

Anybody got a horse with DJD (degenerative joint disese) ?

What helps?

I read somewhere that there is a supplement that contains Hyaluronic acid and a chemical called glycosaminoglycan (sorry bit of a mouthful ) Its not cheap, but it has really good promising results. Have word with your local feed merchant, they should be able to tell you what supplement has it in. You can get it in drug form from your vets, but it costs an arm and a leg! :roll:

Only other thing I know is Phenylbutazone, which is basically bute, so just pain relief rather than solving or easing the problem. :)

Cheers hun- he's currently on NAF superflex (at £55 a tub! Ouch!) Just wondered how other people deal with it? Anything that is have missed out on that would help my old boy.......? (magic cure anybody?! I wish!)
