Do magnetic bell boots work?
I have been dealing with hoof soreness in my gelding for almost a month now. First vet visit we treated it as an abscess, after 15 days no resolve, the vet returned and took x-rays. The films revealed no navicular issues, no coffin bone fractures and no obvious signs of an abscess. However, the lateral side of this left front hoof is tender and he is still sore on it. I am currently treating him for some pretty bad thrush in that hoof (it is getting better but the heel bulb is cleft and his hoof wall is terribly soft, likely from all the soaking for the previous suspected abscess).
Anyway, I am purchasing a hoof supplement from my veterinarian and am hoping that the hoof wall toughens up and with the decreased thrush the inflamed tissue will subside. But I crossed a pair of magnetic bell boots while surfing SmartPak and began to look more into them. The claim is...
"Proven effective way to speed healing by increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation and easing soreness "
Some brands say they speed injury recovery as well as encouraging growth with added circulation. I am interested to know if they really decrease inflammation and encourage hoof growth.
Anyone ever use them before? Back on Track makes them, Dura-tech, Flex Rider, there are several types out there. Experiences anyone?
