Donkeys + Horses?

So my school has gone horse crazy much to my extreme dislike and we now have a little mongrel bred foal with no papers, a feral little shetland gelding, and a donkey. I read somewhere that donkeys have different worms to horses and that it can really affect horses. Is that true? What health concerns would there be with keeping horses with a donkey?

And now onto the horse part, my completely stupid teacher left the children to put the horses in their pens and they put the foal in a pen with barbed wire. She cut above her eye and her lower lip and they put bentadine on it. I personally wouldn't have used bentadine but will it effect the eye or the foal if she swallows it? Would a more mild antiseptic spray specifically for horses be better?

And do you guys think it would be a good idea to write an anonymous letter addressing my concerns and how to fix those problems and send it to my school?

Betadine is about the most effective antiseptic around and what we always use. You'll want to keep any antiseptic out of the eyes and the small amount on the lower lip won't hurt anything. A little generic neosporin (antibiotic ointment) after cleaning it is a good thing. After that, it usually best to just keep an eye on it for infections, not overtreat, and let it heal naturally.
