I may seem small, but if you mess with my horse, I will break out a level of crazy that will make your nightmares seem like a happy place.

Are you hauling water with you or are you watering with whatever is there? Some horses can be finicky about their water. I've heard of using Gatorade, jello, apple flavored products and kool aid powder. Put it in their water before your trip, up to a month prior. When on the road, you can use water there and add it too.

Luckily for us, our horses don't care. They drink whatever water the get.
