Dry Skin...HELP!!!

My Wlker, Seven gets dry skin in her tail and mane when it start getting hot. Last year she totaly destroyed her mane. She has access to minerals all day, is on safe choice pellets, gets flysprayed daily(Horse and Pony)...she is pampered like a drama queen should be. I need a kick you "know what" supplement or something. Any suggestions?

Flax Meal and tie some insecticide ear tags in her main and tail. They will keep the nasty bugs from enjoying her funky skin . Tie one at the top of her tail, one near her poll, and another half way down her mane. They're cheap, and it works.

Feed 1/2 - 1 cup of flax meal a day. Your feed store should carry it, or buy Omega Horseshine.

My gelding got dry skin last year.. and I had no idea what to do.... his fur all started falling out starting with his mane in that one spot.... followed by a big patch of fur on his neck.... it was NASTY! What I did is glob vaseline on it... Vaseline and Polysporn... worked like a charm! Once his skin was rehyderated in that spot, the fur and mane grew back in no time at all
