Dumas Colic-ed !!!!

I'm still a bit freaked out it happened so FAST! I fed them this morning (hay) he was fine. Was out there at noon, fine. Hubby let them out to graze at 3, nothing seemed off. At 4:30 he was down and sweaty!!! We called the vet and he got here about 6pm it is 8 our time now and he seems to be getting better tho he is still doped up a bit. I'll let you know more after a while as I am going back out there now that we ate a bite of dinner (not that we were hungry). Say a prayer for us that the treatment worked! We cannot afford the surgery and will have to put him down if this doesn't work. Thanks everyone! ~ Amy

You and your family (horses included) are in my prayers! I know how terrifying a bout with colic can be. Glad to hear he's improving.

Will pray he will be up and back to his old self in the morning. I've never had a horse colic and it scares the bejeebers out of me. You must have been frantic. Glad the vet got out quick.
