Ok I hate to do this since I know there are probably a million threads...but I need some help
I have tried my hardest to research this, but I just simply don't have the knowledge to know what I am reading.
I am moving my horse out to my house from my current barn in about a month. She is currently fed a complete pelleted feed and she has been doing really well on it. I don't know much about it at all, so I apologize. I want to keep her on something similar, but not spend a fortune.
This is what I know about the feed:
-It's locally milled (local to Ft. Worth)
-It's called Excel
-It's 14% protein
-It's 6% fat
-She is being fed 8lbs. Daily (doesnt this seem like a lot?)
I want to find a replacement feed that is near to me (Lewisville, TX 75067) and here are some requirements:
-I like the pelleted feeds, they are easy and store well
-I would like to keep the same protein/fat ratio or very similar
-I would like to be able to feed her a bit less daily if feasible?
-I would like to keep the cost under $18/bag
Info about the horse:
-5 year old TB mare
-In moderate work 4-5 times weekly
-She came to me ribby, but I think that was due to lack of nutrition/worms. She has filled out nicely in the last 3 months on the feed that I described above.
-I feed her a joint supplement, tri-amino and flaxseed daily
