electrolytes?

I trail ride and was wondering if this is something I should be giving my horse since it has benn pretty hot.

If he sweats a lot, it wouldn't hurt to give him some.

Salt apparently works just as well when combined with a complete diet.

What kind should I use? I have seen powder you put in there water or in a tube like wormer and also my horses always have salt with them
