Electrolytes, pros and cons

Hey y'all! So for the first winter since I've had her, my horse has barelly drank any water at all. I've heard from a few people that feeding their horses electrolytes helps them to drink more in the winter. Right now she's getting MSM and a mineral supplement in her grain. Would electrolytes be ok to mix in with that? Just wanted to get some opinions before I bought it on a whim :) Thanks!

Electrolytes are nothing more than a blend of salt and certain minerals. You are already providing the minerals. Just add a loose salt. Salt blocks often don't do the trick for getting salt into the diet.
