Exclamation Electronic Coggins

I had Rook and Rose's Coggins test done when the vet came to work on Rosie. He asked me if I wanted the traditional paper or the electronic version. I had no clue that this was even offered. He showed me the difference. Of course you all know what the paper looks like. But for the electronic, they take pictures of both sides and the front to put on the test. The results get emailed to you instead of waiting for them to be snail-mailed; and if you misplace them, you can just go back into your email to print them out. Oh, and it's all in color. It did cost me $4 more than the regular, but I think it's well worth it. This way the vet can't make any mistakes in drawing out the markings; and there can be no contest that the horse on the printed report is not the horse you're riding. I can't wait to get the results. Neither one of them would stand good for their pictures. Everytime I would step away, they would be trying to come to me. And I think Rook is chewing on air in at least one of his side pictures.

I was reading about those.... was thinking about getting that done on the horses we're buying. Would be nice to have photos as reference instead of relying on a drawing... especially since they are both "loud" paints I'd pity the vet who had to draw out the markings on them!! LOL

LOL...that's the type that he uses to show people. It's a big paint with lots and lots of intricate markings. It would've taken the vet at least an hour to draw them all in.

Our vet always jokes that drawing tobiano markings on the form is the hardest part about being a vet. For ours, he just has his tech re-draw it from the previous year's form and does a quick compare when he comes out.
