Equine lawsonia in foals--

Have you heard about it in foals, how can you prevent it and does the ground stay contaminated? We don't know anything about it. Thanks

Lawsonia intracellularis still has a lot of unknowns.

It's not known how it's transmitted, or just what harbors the source of the bacteria.

At this time, there's no way to prevent it and there's no vaccine for it.

The only good thing is that it doesn't affect adult horses, only foals.
