So, my gelding got scoped today for ulcers....great news is he has NONE. Not even scarring from old ulcers! For his racing history (95 starts) and the fact that he cribs, that is awesome. All three of the vets (one actual vet, two interns) commented that it was an absolutely gorgeous stomach, lol.
Bad news is he has mild to moderate (on a scale of 1-10 probably a 4) arthritis in his hocks, but again the comment was considering his racing history, he's held up extremely well. He also has some mineral deposits (I believe that's what she said they were) or scarring on his deep digital flexor, she said that was pretty common to see in horses who worked at speeds, and it was relatively minor so it shouldn't inhibit him really at all. For now, he's supposed to just be kept on the joint supplement he's on, and in a few years we may have to start looking at injections, but for now he's fine for work :)
