Eye :(

Hello everyone,

Today after I rode Phoebe out I left Bobby our big TB back out in the field only to find the biggest shock of my young life. What I saw made me break down in tears, my little pony patch had obviously but his neck through the fence to get at the "nicer" grass on the other side. He broke the wire while bringing his head back out and caught his eye in the wire. He has ruptured his eye and has lost the sight in it.

The vet came out and gave him some shots, and tomorrow he has to be taken up to the vet clinic to have his eye removed. I have only ever seen a horse with one eye once before but that horse was born like that and my poor little pony has to have it surgically removed.

Wish us luck for tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

I am so sorry to hear about your Pony! We've had a couple horses lose eyes, and they go on to lead healthy happy lives. He'll be ok, they will take good care of him at the clinic and all will be well.

Shauna I am so sorry to hear this!
I've known a few horses that have had to have an eye removed and they adjusted very well.

((hugs to you and Patch))
