Fast/extreme Muscle loss in my mare! Opinions??

My 7 year old QH mare has lost a significant amount of muscle mass in the past 72 hours my vet estimates 150-200lbs. Her top line and hip just wasted away. She was extremely in shape worked 5 days a week. She is halter/cow bred so she was a wide musclular girl. She unexplainably tied up (or what mimicked it) a week ago, she has never tied up before. She is HYPP neg. The problem is she got kicked bad yesterday and the vet doesn't want to do any testing about the muscle deterioration until we get her leg in the clear, but I can't help worrying about it. Has anyone else had a similar thing happen?

How is she acting otherwise? Is her urine dark in color?

Not all tying up is HYPP. Here is something to look at:

Urinating and defecating okay?

Is she eating? Is she dehydrated?

Yes all other things are normal minus her leg function from the kick. I have considered a deficiency, first thought was selenium as we are lacking majorly in these parts, but she have a salt and mineral block and her grain (LMF) says do not supplement with extra selenium. Also could a deficiency onset that quickly? I know horses can tie up for other reason then HYPP but I knew if I didn't put it and I said she was halter bred everyone would jump to that conclusion. Thank you all!
