Feeding question

When feeding twice a day how many hours should there be between the first and second feeding. If I feed at 11:30 or noon how long should I wait to feed the second feeding. I'm trying to set my work schedule so I can feed my horse twice per day instead of once.

IMHO, it's better to not feed them at exactly the same time every day (I know some people will disagree with this). The horses start to predict feeding time, and get anxious. I also feed twice a day, and like to spread it 8 - 10 hours a part. Sometimes I start at 6 am, other times 8 or 9 am, and work from there.

Yea feed at different times. I was riding a horse and at the barn they got fed at 4 everyday! I was riding adn it was close to 4 adn he wouldnt listen until I really got after him adn this horse is really easy to ride!! I feed mine oats at night any where between 3:40 to 8. They get hay 24/7 from a round bale.

I do the same as the above... different times horse gets to pushy when riding or handling.
But I generally do 8 hours difference between to feeds.

I feed around 545ish in the morning and then when my mom comes by and feeds around 430ish. Before she retired and started helping out I fed dinner around 530 or 600....

I like to be consistent... Mine do know when it's feeding time but they have manners. I also try to feed in the same order everyday... It's easier for me that way.
