Is this filly post legged??

I have a year and seven month old filly. Her name is Twister. I'm really concerned about this default. I'm interested in starting her on barrels when she's old enough, but if she's post legged i'm told she won't hold up. Help?

I would say no. While she doesn't have a lot of hock angle she has nice slope to her pasterns & most post legged horses are very upright.

I do not see post legged ness at all. She isn't grown up fully by any means, but I like her build.

She's a lovely filly and though a little straight through the hock she still looks good

Thank You, I'm just mainly concerned if her hocks will hold for barrels.

She is pretty straight through the hock. I certainly prefer a little more angle at the hock. Does she have mostly performance breeding or halter type breeding? That would tell me more than the photos.

I would worry a lot less about her hocks with her breeding. The halter-bred horses with straight hock are pretty useless. I would still have a PPE exam done with careful attention paid to possible OCD and joint lesions. They are pretty prevalent in some cutting lines and this is the age they show up.
