Fitness plan for a horse that's been a broodmare.....

.... for the last ten years?

Hi! I just bought a 14 year old broodmare and despite not being ridden for the last ten years (so the previous owner tells me), we just hopped on her and she was fine. But, she was a bit, uh, sloppy. She is a Tennessee walker. I would like to ease her gently back into being fit again and really don't know how slow to go? The other complication is that she's boarded 50 km from my house so I can't be there every day. Does anyone have any suggestions on a walking program to ease her back into fitness? And how frequently she should get exercised?
