Flies in Ears - Swat Repellent?

Hi there,
I'm going shopping for a long fly mask tomorrow to protect my horse's eyes from the flies and white nose from the sun. He really needs protection for his ears but he's very ear shy so I'm looking for an alternative to a fly mask with ears.

I just found a product called Swat Fly Repellent Ointment and I'm wondering if it's safe to apply to the inside of the ears.

Does anyone know? Other suggestions?

Never mind...a post in another thread answered my question:) I should have looked first.

I'm going to get a fly mask without ears and use Swat.
