I usually put fly mask on just for the day, however my paint (with sensitive skin) was bitten by flies (bee?) in face to the point of having a big wound.
I put medication on her twice/day, and mask for the day, unfortunately by the time we get to the field in a morning there are already flies there hunting for her sore. So I was thinking about just keeping mask on 24/7 for some time. My concern is can they still see in dark with that mask on?
Major is just fine with his on, so your girl should be fine. Hopefully her sore gets healed up nice and quick though!
I'm also the weirdo who likes to check how well a horse can see with their fly mask before putting it on them.. I used to look through Major's to make sure it'd be okay for the day haha.
If you're very worried you can get a fly mask that's more sheer for night. Roma has one but it's really fine and doesn't hold up well. Posted via Mobile Device

Yeah, I'm aware of that! I keep it quite loose most of the time, so hopefully won't be an issue (and I take it off in eve to check, put medication, etc. before putting it back).
BTW, I've been keeping mask on for couple nights, and the wound finally cleared out and looks much better. So keeping my fingers crossed...
ours are also on 24/7. Kensington makes a tough one to get off. My gelding used to take his off daily and hasn't been able to get this on off..I has a double velcro and you can actually snap a lead rope through the loop..It so far holding up very well.
