    I definitely agree with having foals legs handled! The foals that I work with all pick up their feet and have basically from birth as I imprinted them. It makes it so much easier later when the get big! I'd much rather train a foal when they are tiny than a huge horse that has never learned and is either frightened or just won't cooporate. Getting a foal used to lots of human contact from a few hours old is very important to me!! It sure has worked wonders with all the ones I have worked with so far.

    From day one I started working with my colt. I touched his feet and legs and just got him used to it. When my colt was 4 weeks old he had his first trim and he has been pretty much every 6 weeks since. I would definitely not wait until weaning for the first trim.
