Feb. Or November can't remember but very recent she had her teeth floated. And before I left for Ohio she was getting close to 10lbs of grain a day. Soaked and added beet pulp and alfalfa cubes. She was fine then. According to the new owner the weather has been cold and rainy. Big no no for her. I did leave her with the mares blanket but she must have not known when to put it on.

Saddens me to no end. Through no real fault of her own as they really don't know what they are doing but I am a text away or a call and like I said I wish she would have talked to me way earlier. Ugh! She's very broke about this so I know she cares. I just feel terrible because I'm here and she's way over there.

She is in Pardeeville WI. And no she isn't the mom of the filly. Never been bred.

I think that's pretty far from me, or I'd offer to go shoot stealth pics of her. :/

Thanks spook! My farrier/friend is going out there to asses the situation. I trust her.

How did they decide to drop her from 10 pounds of grain to 1 pound of grain per day?

Did you not explain to them what she was getting before you handed her over?

I did explain it all to them. I'm not sure where communication went wrong but it did and here we are. For one: the mom wasn't there when I delivered her. And as I was explaining things the new owner (15yr old) had a friend with her and the new owner has hearing problems. So it may not have all been understood. I don't really know.

In hind site, writing it all done would have done some good.

It sounds like they simply are not feeding her enough. Have them slowly up her grain to get her where she was (plus some to put some weight on her) and go from there.

Yep for now that's what I told them. Their going to get a weight tape and weigh her starting tonight. Bump her grain up until she is back where she was and blanket her. Worm her and feed her separate from the others. Then I told her in two weeks to tape her again and find if she is gaining or not. Then from there it will have to be handed to the vet. Thanks for your advice Always!
