Hello!
I am currently horse-sitting for a friend of mine, and when I headed out to feed this morning I noticed that their older thoroughbred mare was rather lame. Her right front leg was swollen, though not hot. I looked closely at it and it seems that she might have hurt her tendon. I have already notified her owners, and am keeping a close eye on it and doing everything I can. I would appreciate some opinions as to what you think it might be. I am concerned it may be a bowed tendon, but I am hoping it isn't. I have no idea how this old mare did it, she was in her large, safe stall all night...
Anyway, all advice and opinions are appreciated! Apologies if the pictures aren't that great, I took them tonight before it got too dark out with my cell phone.
Thank you!
