Getting Rescued colt

Just had a couple questions about a colt that we are getting we are new to the forum
We found a 7 month old what is told to be a QH and he is wonderful we went out to see him and he was so loving and he knew how to get the heart strings
When we went to see him he had a little cold w/ runny nose and the lady said that it was what they call shipping fever it was no big deal she ran him with a round of antibiotics that he took the last dose as of today and he is better
Now we had a cut on the underside of his neck that is healed VERY well
we are just worried that what ever he went through will not come back and bite us in the butt
He was not kept really good he was under weight when he come to her and was limited to the food that was given to him

Will that mess with his growth ?

He is 7 months old? That us just barely off his mamma. Anything done to him can be undone as long as he has no broken bones, major injuries or ?? Mental/emotional trauma can be forgotten with good loving care. Food issues can be fixed with good feed in proper amounts. 7 months is very young. Will he have any company or be all alone? That would be the only thing I would worry about.

Pictures? We love pictures here. Welcome to the forum!

He is in all around good health accept the cold he got over and the cut that needed tending
He has not been with mama that we know of for atleast two months atleast not by the date that was on the first pic we got of him before we went out there
He has not had any broken bones and as far as emotional trauma I think that there has been a bit of it when we first went to see him he was really stand offish but he really warmed up when we were there for a while really likes to give kisses we have no other horses really would like to get him a mate to have with him so he would not be alone but for time being him being so young we were thinking of putting the pigmy goats we have in there with him so he has someone to play with seeing as though the two goats and him are about the same age we think they would be good together you sometimes get "odd couples " as friends they make the best ones that way he would not be alone
Just really wanted to make sure that he would not me messed up with his growth and health in the future due to the lack of food that he was getting and the fact that he was taken so early from his mom
