Thank you very much everyone. Only horse people can understand what I'm going through.

He is gone now. He went peacefully and will be buried beside Mason tomorrow afternoon. I braided some of his mane and cut it off while we were waiting for the vet. I will frame a picture of him and Mason and put both of their mane braids in the frame.

And yes, they are finally together again, just like Gibson has been yearning for the past year. They say the good die young..Gibson was only 19 years old.

How can a gut rupture so quickly, with only less then one minute warning that he was colicking? Its like he didn't want to live after he saw Mase die. He just stopped living life and lost his zest.

I love him, and will miss him so much. He gave me many memories and even more laughs <3 for that I am very grateful.

I'm so, so sorry. It's the hardest thing in the world to lose someone you love with your whole being. Cherish the wonderful memories you had with him, and take solace in the fact that he is no longer suffering and that you could be with him until his last moments.

So very sorry for your loss. Rest in peace and play with your buddy, Gibson.

Thank you very much for the kind words, everyone. I knew I could find some support on HF. I think after work today I'll be spending lots of quiet time with the horses.

The worst part is that I can't get the image of him suffering and dying as we waited for the vet. I wish we had some pain killers that would have helped him. :'(
