Dont even guess without seeing the teeth....colour has nothing to do with age, I've seen greys born black that were totally grey by 3 and white by 6. The other forum guessing people were just that....Guessing.

You can only tell by their teeth. I have raised gray horses for 40 years. Some are still dark and dappled when they are 10 and I have had others that were snow white at 3 or 4. Color is not a good indicator. It depends if their base color was light (like palomino or buckskin) or dark like bay or brown. And even then, they all gray out at a different rate.

Everyone is right. I had a lady ask me if my pony was older like hers (in September). She said "Your pony looks like he is older too eh?" (She had an elderly pony)

Hahahaha he was 3 in April

You need to get pictures of the cups of his teeth.

Is this a competition?? What's the prize?

If you're new to forums, you'll soon work out that many have hard & fast opinions they want to tell you, without much basis in fact - take all you read with a... big chunk of rocksalt! You can only accurately age a horse by his teeth & saying a horse looks 4 years older than the owner says is rather rediculous anyway - like saying there's no way a person looks 38, that they must be 42.
