Hamstring Wound (Picture included!)

My QH Buzz got a pasture boo boo! Naturally, I called the vet first, she came out, blah de blah, and this is what we have left! She said the only thing I can do is rinse twice a day, and spray a wound gel. Any tips as to how to prevent severe scarring? This happened two days ago, and is healing fairly quickly, but its impossible to bandage and blanket time is coming up soon (we live in Florida.) So just looking for some scar prevention tips, or any that would be relevant to a wound like this. Thanks!!

I know MTG has pictures of wounds, and the results after putting MTG on them. Never tried it myself though. I've used Gall Salve with great results.
