    hay

Ok so I am not sure where to put this but just had a happy day. I found some hay today that was super nice looking it smells great and it's green still. I bought a round roll that weighed in at about 1600 lbs it took four adults to unload it off of a flat trailer and this guy has hay that is a fescue/bermuda grass mix and it is totally great hay and was only 3 dollars a bale out of the barn I am thrilled I have been paying 7 a bale. Just wanted to share my good fortune.

Lucky -.- How much did the round bale cost you? We were paying $40 but the last time we went to get it(about 3 weeks ago), it was $50.. I hope we have a good spring this year , hay has been ridiculous as far as price AND quality. First we don't get enough rain, prices are jacked WAAYYY up and the hay is dusty and dry... then we get too much rain and the prices stay the same... but now its wet and moldy -.- Well congrats on finding some good hay! I'm sure your horses love it!

In Queensland it was over $20 a (lucerne) bale, last time I checked. And it was dry with barely any leaf.

Im lucky enough to be a part time farmer, so hay only cost me the fuel and maintinance. Only feed from january till april. Their on pasture the rest of the year.
