    Heat Concerns

OK It's 95 and sunny out and Henry (25yr TB) and DB (26yr Arabian) have a 3+ acre pasture with very nice shade trees to hang out under. So why do they insist on standing in the full sun sweating their butts off? Henry is litterly soaked.
Also other than lots of fresh cool water and a salt/mineral block, do I need to do anything for them because of the heat?

As long as they have access to adequate shade, water and salt, I wouldn't worry. They are experienced enough to know where they want to hang out.

I keep thinking i'm going to put a sprinkler on the side of my fence w/ a timeer, so that they can stand under it if they want... you could try that, I never had so I can't promise they'll use it...

OUr horses do the same thing... They have a choice but they like the sun I guess....

Yeah just let him be- if it's too hot for him personally, he'll go under the shade or get some water. Lexi's like that too sometimes.
