Hi,

I don't know what mtg is, but for rug rubs, you need to firstly remove the offending rug. It obviously doesn't fit him well if it's hurting him anyway. Hopefully you'll find a better one that fits comfortably & doesn't sit on/rub on the oiginal injuries. Otherwise he'll probably have to go without a rug until he's healed.

How can you keep his coat red? I presume it is a washed out kind of look? Winter coats can look a bit different, but generally if he's getting good, well balanced nutrition & isn't wormy, his coat should stay looking good.

he's in good health but I have never seen him with a winter coat as I just started leasing him in december. Do you think maybe putting a thinner proper fitting cooler would work its just his rain sheet that rubs but his cooler doesnt rub

Why do you want to put a cooler on him? I wouldn't bother putting anything on him, unless/until such time as the weather gets too bad, IF you have a rug that will fit without rubbing.
