Help for bored Appy!

I pasture board my new boy at the barn I take lessons at (he has been there a month and a half). He is not with other horses, but his fence does border the fences of other horses. I also ride him almost every day for at least an hour if not more. Still, I think he is getting bored throughout the day, as he draws circles in the dirt (heehee). I have found plenty of toys I could get for in the stall, but I am looking for sturdier toys that would entertain him outside...I would love links to pasture toys or descriptions of safe, sturdy toys I could make for him!!!

Help me!

Is there any way that he can get a friend in there with him?

Great news! I talked to barn manager tonight and asked if Fella could be pastured with others, and she said she was glad I asked! We put him in with three others. I am looking forward to seeing how this will affect his personality!
