in the UK the vast majority of unridable horses have a horrible journey into Europe and end up in a dog food can (or more recently Tesco frozen beef burgers).
We have so many ponies wwho are easier keepers, require less in the way of upkeep, are hardier, can be wintered out etc that no one has any need at all for 16hh or unridable TB that will need to be stables, rugged up and fed to the eyeballs just to keep it from looking like a hat rack.
If people want a companion they normaly go for a 12hh pony that requires a brush every now and again.
