High Ringbone?

I found a dime size hard lump about two inches above the hoof (anterior) on Defender's right front pastern tonight. It wasn't there the night before last.

Could this be high ringbone?

I pressed hard on it to illicit a pain response and nothing. Didn't seem to bother him at all.

He's not lame on the leg.

Think I should have the vet out for an x-ray?

Does anyone have experience with something like this? Treatment? Prognosis?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide me.
