Horn like growths on the back of the fetlock?

Okay, In all the time I have spent around horses and no matter how many I have seen I have NEVER seen anything like what my Haflinger has. On the back of her fetlocks on all 4 feet are little horn like things. They are almost like chestnuts and ergots but aren't. It's kinda like somebody took a dull claw shaped piece of hoof and glued it to the back of her fetlocks. They really get in the way when clipping for show and are just weird. I'll see if I can get a picture.

Any ideas

Never mind. I just answered my own question. I thought Ergots were the things like chestnuts on the hind legs.

Anyway. Now that I feel completely stupid.

Don't feel stupid, we all get caught out by stuff, at least the mystery is solved. Get you farrier to trim them next time he is out, or clip them back yourself

I'm glad you did. I didn't know so I looked because my appendix filly has one. Thanks!
