Horse accident!

Today after I rode I went to was my pony and I tied him to a pole with a quick-release knot. I couldn't even turn the water on to wash him before he suddenly tugged back on the lead rope in panic, he's never done this before, and the post came up from the ground, breaking the water pipe and spilling water everywhere. My pony then started galloping around the yard bucking and headed straight for the barb wire fence (I hate barb wire but we don't own the place, we just rent it and I already want to move to a barb wire free stable. Also where I come from, barb wire is banned from the country). My pony, Robin, tries to jump the fence but of course it's too tall for him so he topples over and falls on his side. Thank god he didn't get stuck. He ran around frantically some more but when I finally got him his wounds were nasty but not too deep, so he got off REALLY easy. Now here's the real problem: after treating his wounds I gave him so grain but shortly after it started coming out of his nose as goo. It kept coming every couple of minutes and we stayed with him for about an hour. It hadn't stopped. We had to go home since at least it wasn't worse and we're going to see him super early in the morning. However, i'm really worried! I walked him around and rubbed his throat but it didn't help. What is happening? What can I do? Should I have the vet visit? I already called a horse friend for advice but she couldn't tell us much. Please help, I'm so worried!
