horse muzzle swollen

we put our horses out in our yard yesterday and we left them out over night and this morning we went out and his muzzle is swollen we checked his teeth and nasal passages to see if they were swollen he is breathing and eating ok but he is just really swollen is there anything i could put on it i flushed it with water

Like, swollen how? Are his nostrils closing, or is it just a skin thing? Could he have gotten into any toxic plants? Are there any marks on him?
