horse poop

I just got a rescue horse that needs some weight put on him. I noticed his poop has a lot of hay in it. I have never seen anything like it. I will be asking the vet about it when she is out this week. What could this be a sign of? Needing his teeth floated?

Yes get his teeth checked out....sounds like he is not able to chew properly so he probably isn't getting all the nutrition he needs.
